About
Associate Professor at the Department of Social Sciences (UFC). Permanent member of the graduate committees of the Sociology Graduate Program and POLEDUC – Professional Master’s in Public Policies and Higher Education Management. Researcher at the Laboratory for Violence Studies (LEV), the Center for Political Anthropology (NuAP), Paralaxe, and CEPAS (Center of Excellence for Water and Drought Policies). His expertise spans Sociology, with an emphasis on the Sociology of Violence and Social Conflicts; Anthropology, focusing on the Anthropology of Power, Morality, and Politics; and Social Psychology, with an emphasis on Subjectivity, Identity, Individuality, and Embodiment in Modern Martial Arts. He has published the books Os filhos do Estado: autoimagem e disciplina na formação dos oficiais da Política Militar do Ceará (Rio de Janeiro: Relume Dumará, Núcleo de Antropologia da Política/UFRJ, Coleção Antropologia da Política, 2002) and Guerra, mundão e consideração: uma etnografia da socialidade armada em Fortaleza (Fortaleza: Imprensa Universitária UFC, 2021).
