Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Federal University of Ceará (1994), with psychoanalytic training.
Master’s degree in Sociology – Federal University of Ceará, UFC (1998)
PhD in Sociology from the Federal University of Ceará (2004).
Postdoctoral studies in Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Strasbourg, France, under the supervision of David le Breton. He also worked at the University of Paris-Diderot (Paris 7) and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (2013-2014), receiving a CAPES Senior Internship Grant. He is a Research Productivity Researcher (PQ 2-CNPq).
About
Associate Professor 3 in the Department of Social Sciences at the Federal University of Ceará, a permanent member of the UFC Graduate Program in Sociology, and coordinator of the UFC Social Sciences Program (Bachelor’s and Licentiate Degrees, Evening Programs). Professor of the Professional Master’s Program in Sociology in the National Network (Profsocio). He coordinated the Interinstitutional Doctorate Program (DINTER) in Sociology with the Federal University of Amapá (2013-2017). He has experience in Sociology, with an emphasis on the Sociology of the Family, Gender Relations, and Sexuality; research on the following themes: subjectivity and social experience, the relationship between health and society, and the ethnography of psychological knowledge (privileging dialogue with psychoanalysis), Michel Foucault, contemporary sexual politics, homosexuality, and same-sex marriage. He is currently researching temporality, memory, and the subjective implications of Alzheimer’s disease. He coordinates the Research Center on Sexuality, Gender, and Subjectivity (NUSS), a laboratory linked to the Cultural Diversity, Gender Studies, and Identity Processes research line of the Graduate Program in Sociology at UFC. He leads the Psychoanalysis & Social Sciences Research Group, registered with the DGP/CNPq.
