About
She completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Sociology at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES/UA) – Portugal (2008/2009), under the supervision of Boaventura de Sousa Santos. She is an Associate Professor IV in the Department of Social Sciences at the Federal University of Ceará. She is a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Sociology – PPGS/UFC. She is also a permanent faculty member of the Professional Master’s in Public Policy Evaluation – MAPP and the Graduate Program in Public Policy Evaluation/Academic Master’s – PPGAPP. She is currently the Coordinator of MAPP and coordinates the University Network of Researchers on Latin America – RUPAL. He is a member of the Latin American Research Network, which is developing the research project “Civil Societies in the State Crisis of Latin America. Theoretical Perspectives in Concrete Studies,” under the auspices of the Support Program for Research and Technological Innovation Projects (PAPIIT) at the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), under the coordination of Professor Lucio Oliver Costilla.
He works in the field of Sociology, specifically Political Sociology, with an emphasis on the following themes: Social Emancipation in the 21st Century; Globalization of Capital; Brazil’s Adjustment Processes to Financialized Capitalism; Democracy in Contemporary Times; State and Public Policies in Contemporary Brazil; and Social Assistance Policy. He conducts studies within Latin America, discussing sociopolitical transformations and reconfigurations of the State and Civil Society. He also works in the field of Public Policy Evaluation, analyzing epistemological dimensions and theoretical and methodological alternatives. Throughout his career, he has developed studies in the fields of Epistemology and Methodology in Social Sciences. In the 2000s, he developed studies in the field of Decolonial Thought, with a focus on African production and discussions on racism.
