About
Currently, he is a professor of Political Science in the Department of Social Sciences and a tenured professor in the Graduate Program in Sociology at the Federal University of Ceará, where he also serves as program coordinator. He holds a postgraduate degree in Sociology. He is also a tenured professor in the Postgraduate Program in Public Policy at the State University of Ceará.
His research interests include Italian Neofascism, highlighting neofascist and monarchist rights in Naples after World War II, led by shipowner and businessman Achille Lauro, a “Berlusconi before the law.” He has written two books on these topics: “Achille Lauro: Political Unimprenditore dell’Italia repubblicana” (2008) and “La rinascita della della destra. Il laboratorio sindacale-politico Napoletano da Saló ad Achille Lauro” (2013).
His postdoctoral research focused on the influence of Italian fascist corporatism on the social legislation of the “Vargas Era.” On this topic, he has published articles and book chapters in Italy, Portugal, Brazil, and the United States. He has a deep interest in the thought of Oliveira Vianna, a Brazilian sociologist and jurist, one of the first interpreters of Brazil’s colonial formation, an apologist for the Vargas Regime, and legal advisor to the Ministry of Labor from 1932 to 1940.
