About

He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences and the Graduate Program in Sociology at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), and a researcher at the Laboratory for Studies in Politics, Education, and the City. (LEPEC/UFC). He was a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Social Sciences (RCS), a scientific journal with over 50 years of existence. He was Coordinator of the Specialization Course in Education, Poverty and Social Inequality (EPDS), in a partnership between UFC and the Ministry of Education (MEC); and was Coordinator of the Professional Master’s Program in Sociology in the National Network (ProfSocio) at UFC. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the State University of Ceará (2002), a master’s degree in Sociology (2004), and a PhD in Sociology (2010), both from the Federal University of Ceará. He works in Sociology, mainly on the following topics: youth, music, education, urban sociology, urban mobility, and public policy. She participated in the UFC team that developed the Integrated Land Regularization Plan (PIRF) for the Special Zones of Social Interest (ZEIS) of Bom Jardim, Pici, and Poço da Draga, in the city of Fortaleza, in a UFC initiative coordinated by LEPEC and developed in partnership with the Fortaleza City Hall and the Fortaleza Planning Institute (IPLANFOR), between 2019 and 2020. Between 2020 and 2023, she participated in the research team of the project “Turando o Jogo – Juventude e Overação: Intervindo e Monitorando para Construir Competências Familiares e Habilidades Socioemotionais” (Turning the Game – Youth and Overcoming: Intervening and Monitoring to Build Family Competencies and Socioemotional Skills), developed by UFC and the University of Fortaleza (UNIFOR) to research, evaluate, and intervene in the “Turning the Game” program of the Secretariat of Social Protection, Justice, Women, and Human Rights (SPS) of the Government of the State of Ceará. She conducts research on youth sociability in schools and on urban mobility and the use of public spaces in large cities. His recent notable publications include the organization of the Collection Education, Poverty and Social Inequality, in 4 volumes, by Editora Pontes and MEC, in 2019; the organization, alongside Professor Danyelle Nilin Gonçalves, of the book “School and University: Encounters between Sociology and Education”, published as an ebook by UFC as part of the Book Call of the Pro-Rectorate of Research and Graduate Studies (PRPPG), in 2020; the entry “Teaching Sociology and Youth” in the Dictionary of Sociology Teaching by the publisher Café com Sociologia, in 2020; and co-authorship of the article “Education, Poverty and Social Inequality: Discussions and methodological proposals for research”, published in the Journal of Social Sciences (vol. 52, n. 1), in 2021; co-authorship of the article “Teaching work and the covid-19 pandemic: An investigation with elementary and secondary school teachers” “Medium” (Theory of Culture Magazine, vol. 17, no. 1) in 2022; and co-authorship of the article “Home-Work Commute: The Use of Modes and Time in the City of Fortaleza” (Metropole Notebooks, v. 25, no. 57) in 2023.
