About
Dr. Mariana Barreto is a sociologist and Associate Professor III at the Federal University of Ceará. She holds both her Master’s and PhD in Sociology from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), including doctoral research at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS/MSH) in Paris. From 2010 to 2013, she served as Associate Professor at the Federal University of Maranhão.
Specializing in the sociology of culture, her research interests focus on cultural globalization, cultural industries, and cultural consumption. Her current work examines popular artists in Brazilian music.
