Mariana Mont’Alverne Barreto Lima
Mariana Barreto is Ph.D. in Sociology and Senior Lecturer at the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil. Her postgraduate studies were developed in the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, with a period as visiting scholar in the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS/MSH), France. Dr. Barreto was Senior Lecturer at the Federal University of Maranhão, Brazil, from 2010 until 2013. She is an expert in Cultural Sociology and her main research interests are the globalization of culture, cultural industry, cultural consumption, and investigating how it works for artists to become recognized.
